I need your advice...

Please please please leave comments and give me your honest opinion. The only reason I'm blogging about this is because I need everyone's input. I'm having a hard time with this decision. I have wanted to go to cosmetology school for a looong time now. I know I would love doing hair, makeup, waxing, etc. The timing has never worked in my favor, but I know I just need to make it happen. The dilemma I am having right now is when to start. Do I start now while my kids are little and put them in daycare so I can go to school part time? Or do I wait until they are in school and go to school then? Being a single mom I can pretty much get school paid for and only have to pay back a small amount in loans after I graduate. There are pros and cons to both. Please help! Give me your advice, please!

Go Cougars!!!

Turkey Day

My brother and sister-in-law hosted Thanksgiving at their house this year. We had a lot of fun with the whole family. Crystal made an awesome, yummy turkey. It was nice watching the Cowboys beat the Raiders! The kids had fun playing outside in the snow in the backyard. Overall it was a great day! I'm thankful for my awesome family and the fun we have together.

Games and Cars!

Jaden is starting to get bored at times so now I have to come up with new ways to keep him entertained. Today I decided to get online and look at some online games for toddlers. He absolutely loved playing the different games. Some of the games were even preschool level 3! I am pretty sure I am not biased when I say that Jaden is really smart. There was one game where he had to decide which object is bigger out of 2 objects and he guessed every single one right. He played a matching game where he had to pick what belongs to another object, i.e. tooth paste with a tooth brush. He got them all right. I almost started to cry just watching his face light up. He was so proud of himself when he would get it right and so eager to learn. I wish I would have gotten a picture of his face with his intent stare and big smile.
Yesterday AJ bought me a car!!!! I got a '99 Dodge Durango. This picture doesn't do it justice.
I will have to take a better one in the daylight. I was and am so excited. It's so nice driving a safe, reliable car with my kids in tow. It seats 7 people which is so fun! One of the first things I said when we were looking at it is that now Nicole and her girls and us can ride in the same car. :) Thank you soooo much AJ for my car!

(please disregard my evil sweatshirt, it was cold and the first one I found. No, I did not purchase this with my own money.)

Cute things Jaden says

Mostly for journal purposes, but I just wanted to remember the cute things that Jaden says daily. There are a ton more, but these are all I can think of right now.

"It be okay mommy"
(every time I whine or hurt myself he will come right up to me and hug me and say this to me)

"Let me stay up little bit longer"

"What's that sound Mommy?"

"
Kiki don't push me"

"Move out my way"

"Mommy I wake up now"

"What's that called?"

"I share my toys"

"Thank you for bringing me my
sippy mommy" (he doesn't just say thank you now, he says thank you and the reason he is saying thank you. smart little boy!)

"I want some cream on my bum"
(diaper rash cream)

"Horsey went stinky, need to change horsey bum-bum"
(he says this when it smells really bad outside, good ole Utah county smell)

"I don't like this song" or "I like this song!"
(he is always in control of the radio)

"I want to listen to
Baby Just Say Yes" (Love Story by Taylor Swift)

"
Kiki don't do that!"

"Mommy take picture of me"
(when he knows he is doing something cute, he already knows I am going to take a picture of him)

"Get more (insert word) at store!" (whenever we are out of something like apple juice, milk, cereal, gum, candy, etc. he always says that we need to get more at the store)

"I eat Grandma's yogurt" (today he ate some yogurt and brilliantly remembered that 2 months ago Grandma was here eating the same kind of yogurt)

"Pretty soon" (if I say no to anything he asks for he will say, "okay I have candy pretty soon mommy?" and I say yes, pretty soon.)

Daddy asks "What's the name of the solar system we live in?" and Jaden says "Milky way"

"I happy now!"

Jump on It

Nicole invited us to a place called Jump on It today. It's just a few minutes from our house. Even better, the kids get in FREE! They had so much fun jumping on the trampolines and playing on the slides. Nicole, Londyn and I just sat there and watched them have a good ole time. I'm sure we will be spending many more days there this winter.

Confession Sunday

I confess that I sometimes go to the gym twice a day just to get a break from my kids. They love the child care there so I think it's okay. :)

I confess that the past week I have taken a bath every night just to relax and read my magazines.

I confess that I've eaten way too many cookies this weekend.

I confess that I think Kaylie gets her over-dramaticness from me.

I confess I wish I could be a celebrity on Dancing with the Stars. I want to lose weight that way!

I confess that if solo I can spend up to two hours at Walmart just roaming around.

I confess that I've gone tanning twice in the past 3 days. I love it, bite me. :)

I confess that this year I'm not really looking forward to Thanskgiving. It will just be my kids and I here at home.

I confess that I am looking forward to moving out of Utah someday.

Yummy cookies in honor of the Utes losing

Oh how I love to eat pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. What's even better is they are only ONE point with Weight Watchers.

1 box spice cake mix
1 16 oz. can of pumpkin
3/4 C. Chocolate chips
mix them together
bake at 350 for 15-19 minutes

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for Christine and Cathleen, they are instructors at the rec center I work out at. They are the best, they push me so hard and help me out a ton. Christine told me last night that I looked like I am losing weight. FINALLY. I am working so hard. I'm also doing Weight Watchers again so hopefully I keep getting good results.

I am thankful that AJ has been here with us again. It's been nice having the company and help.

I am thankful that the kids and I get to go to California next month and get away from this cold weather. Today was such a miserable, cold, windy day!

I am thankful for my mom and the weekly care packages she sends for the kids and I. Chapstick, magazines, vitamins, medicine, clothes for the kids, coupons, pictures, etc. are only some of the things she sends. She is the best mom and grandma ever! Last week I was giving Jaden his vitamins and he says "Grandma got more vitamins, mommy?" I just laughed and thought it was so cute. He knows Grandma always gets him lots of stuff.

I am thankful that AJ fixed my CD burner. He replaced it with an old CD drive and it works! I can finally burn CDs!!!

I am thankful that my kids are so kind and well-behaved. They have their moments just like any toddler does, but overall they are amazing kids. The ladies at the child care in the gym always say how good they are. They always help clean up the mess before we leave. They share their toys and say thank you and please every single time. I am so proud of them. I love them so much.

Saturday Randoms

Wow! I haven't done any of my own random thoughts for awhile so here it goes...

Jaden is loving his choo-choo train set. He literally plays with it all day. It's so fun to watch him pretend play.

I officially started Weight Watchers again today. I lost 10 pounds on it (without working out) the first time and have maintained it. Now that I am working out 5 times a week, I am hoping to get better results. I am really tired of being overweight. According to statistics I should really be 115-120. Well I have quite a ways to go. I have been doing spinning a few times a week still and also some aerobics classes, cardio intervals, kick boxing, etc. I love working out! I love the way it makes me feel.

Recently a "friend" of mine and I got into a little argument over text messaging. Ridiculous, I know. I've spent months trying to figure out what is going on with her and if something happened to make her be so distant. Over and over she would tell me nothing was wrong and deny it. Finally she sent me a 6 page text message explaining everything. It made me realize that we aren't friends and that we weren't as close as I thought we were. Something so little could affect our friendship and she felt it was okay to judge me for who I am. I felt like it was high school all over again. I don't need friends that are going to judge me and write me off because they don't like one little thing that happens. I know that the good friends I have, when there is an issue we talk about it and figure it out. I'm really thankful for the good friends I have and the amazing support they are to me.

It's been a long past few days. My kids are sick with colds again so I haven't been able to go work out everyday. Stupid colds! I hate being cooped up in the house all day with sick kids. Not fun at all. I guess I should be thankful that they aren't any sicker. They are getting better so hopefully Monday we will be back in the gym!

Who are all my Grey's Anatomy buddies?? I LOVE that show so much. Each week I am so happy with it and find myself addicted to every little minute of the episode. My favorite episode was last week when McDreamy was performing the "impossible" surgery and Lexi wanted to scrub in and wore a diaper! "You can kiss my diaper-wearing ass!" haha! I loved it! I was laughing so hard.

I'm excited for Thanksgiving and to see all my family up at my brother and sister-in-law's house. We always have lots of fun when we get together - and of course some good food! I'm very thankful for my family and for the fun times we have together.

Totally random thoughts

I got this in an email, one of those forwards...this one is good though!

Random Thoughts of the Day:

· Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

· Have you ever been walking down the street and realized that you're going in the complete opposite direction of where you are supposed to be going? But instead of just turning a 180 and walking back in the direction from which you came, you have to first do something like check your watch or phone or make a grand arm gesture and mutter to yourself to ensure that no one in the surrounding area thinks you're crazy by randomly switching directions on the sidewalk.

· I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

· Do you remember when you were a kid, playing Nintendo and it wouldn't work? You take the cartridge out, blow in it and that would magically fix the problem. Every kid in America did that, but how did we all know how to fix the problem? There was no internet or message boards or FAQ's. We just figured it out. Today's kids are soft.

· There is a great need for sarcasm font.

· Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what was going on when I first saw it.

· How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

· I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

· I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

· The only time I look forward to a red light is when I’m trying to finish a text.

· A recent study has shown that playing beer pong contributes to the spread of mono and the flu. Yeah, if you suck at it.

· Was learning cursive really necessary?

· Lol has gone from meaning, "laugh out loud" to "I have nothing else to say".

· I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

· Whenever someone says "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart", all I hear is "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart".

· How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear what they said?

· I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars teams up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers!

· While driving yesterday I saw a banana peel in the road and instinctively swerved to avoid it...thanks Mario Kart.

· MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

· I find it hard to believe there are actually people who get in the shower first and THEN turn on the water.

· Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

· I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

· Bad decisions make good stories

· Whenever I'm Facebook stalking someone and I find out that their profile is public I feel like a kid on Christmas morning who just got the Red Ryder BB gun that I always wanted. 546 pictures? Don't mind if I do!

· Is it just me or do high school girls get sluttier & sluttier every year?

· Why is it that during an ice-breaker, when the whole room has to go around and say their name and where they are from, I get so incredibly nervous? Like I know my name, I know where I'm from; this shouldn't be a problem....

· You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you've made up your mind that you just aren’t doing anything productive for the rest of the day.

· Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after DVDs? I don't want to have to restart my collection.

· There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

· I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.

· "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this ever.

· I hate being the one with the remote in a room full of people watching TV. There's so much pressure. 'I love this show, but will they judge me if I keep it on? I bet everyone is wishing we weren’t watching this. It's only a matter of time before they all get up and leave the room. Will we still be friends after this?'

· I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Darnit!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

· I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

· When I meet a new girl, I'm terrified of mentioning something she hasn't already told me but that I have learned from some light internet stalking.

· I like all of the music in my iTunes, except when it's on shuffle, then I like about one in every fifteen songs in my iTunes.

· Why is a school zone 20 mph? That seems like the optimal cruising speed for pedophiles...

· As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate cyclists.

· Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

· It should probably be called Unplanned Parenthood.

· I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

· I think that if, years down the road when I’m trying to have a kid, I find out that I’m sterile, most of my disappointment will stem from the fact that I was not aware of my condition in college.

· Even if I knew your social security number, I wouldn't know what do to with it.

· Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I’d bet my left eye everyone can find and push the Snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time every time...

· My 4-year old son asked me in the car the other day "Dad what would happen if you ran over a ninja?" How the hell do I respond to that?

· It really pisses me off when I want to read a story on CNN.com and the link takes me to a video instead of text.

· I wonder if cops ever get pissed off at the fact that everyone they drive behind obeys the speed limit.

· I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

· I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lites than Kay.

· The other night I ordered takeout, and when I looked in the bag, saw they had included four sets of plastic silverware. In other words, someone at the restaurant packed my order, took a second to think about it, and then estimated that there must be at least four people eating to require such a large amount of food. Too bad I was eating by myself. There’s nothing like being made to feel like a fat idiot before dinner.

"What's this called?"

Just a couple of days ago Jaden has started saying "What's this called?" and points to something he doesn't know the name of. Today I probably got asked it 20 times. I don't mind at all, I think it is so cute. I love that he is so eager to learn and wants to know everything.

I am a sucker for the things he wants. For the past 2 months I've been going to the gym and the kids have been going to the child care there. They have a choo-choo train that he loves to play with and the past week he has even started asking for one. Every time I would go to the store he would ask me to get him a choo-choo train and even say what color he wanted. Well finally yesterday he got one. (Kaylie did, too.) He was so happy and is still so happy. He plays with it most of the day.
(ignore my brother's foot...haha)

HaPPy HaLLoWeeN!!!

Halloween was great fun this year. The kids and I went to the neighborhood Trunk or Treat on Friday night. Jaden dressed up as Tony Romo and Kaylie was a pretty little ladybug. They loved saying trick or treat and please and thank you. They mostly loved the candy. :)

Kaylie (ladybug), Londyn (bumble bee), Brindley (Tinkerbell), Jaden (Romo)

Halloween night I went to my friend Ashley's Halloween Party. It was sooo much fun. It is always fun to get together with the girls from high school and their hubbies. We played fun games and had rrrreally yummy food. Ashley decorated her place so cute and put a lot of time into it. She was a great hostess. Thank you Uncle RyRy for watching my kiddies so I could go have a fun time with friends!
