Well I used to be the type that was early to just about anything, appointments, interviews, dates, or just hanging out, I'd arrive 10-15 minutes earlier. I got that from my mom. Well now I am lucky if I am 15 minutes late! It is so hard getting 3 people ready for the day. I am pretty sure it takes about two hours to prepare for leaving the house, and no I'm not kidding. I have to shower, do my hair and makeup which is about 45 minutes; feed the kids which takes 30 - 45 minutes; get the kids dressed and change diapers about 15 minutes; get my diaper bag ready about 5 minutes; get out the door and get the kids in the car about 10 minutes. So many people ask me how I go out and about with 2 kids, but its not being out that is hard for me, its getting out that is hard for me! I would love to be rich so I could hire a personal assistant just to get us out the door in the morning. I am not looking forward to when I start working and I really do have to be on time! shoot me in the face! =)

I hate dating! Yep, that's right I hate it. I forgot how much I hate it since it's been a few years. Why do I hate dating you ask? Well I will tell you. I hate the games, I hate the drama, I hate the insecurities, I hate the wondering and the hoping, blah blah blah! Oh and I hate getting to the comfortable zone, where you can finally be comfortable and not have to get all ready and dolled up for just hanging out and watching a movie. I would just love to somehow skip past all the dating crap and just go right to marriage. ha! I'm not 100% serious about the marriage part, but there would be some positives to that. Although I complain about dating, it is fun to be doing it again and not be pregnant. Thanks to my BFF Nicole I feel pretty again. She dyed my hair a few days ago and it is sooo cute. I love it! And Joy introduced me to a lady that does the spray on tan at her house and it is awesome, it looks so real! So I went and got my tan on and I feel great! I look like the mother of my children actually (same skin tone) haha! It's funny because the first day of the tan is the darkest because you cant shower for 8 hours and I was as dark as my kids!
Here is a picture to prove it...
Oh and here is another thing I hate......STUPID UTAH weather! This morning I woke up
and checked the weather online, it was 35 degrees!!! Are you kidding me?! It's June 8th not January 8th!
Enough of what I hate huh? How about things I love lately...
I just downloaded the new Leona Lewis CD and it is so good. I am very excited about it. I'm sure the only other person that will share in my excitement is my sister Megan. We are on the same page when it comes to music! I also downloaded my boy Usher's CD, even though he's married I still heart him! haha! His new CD is pretty good, but I like his Confessions album the best.
Other things I love lately....
-chicken nuggets
-pesto alfredo pasta!!!
-my hair!
-painting Kaylie's toenails
-going on walks with Nicole and the kiddies
-The Bachelorette, I am obsessed! I can't wait until tomorrow to watch it! Go Jason! =)
-Ellen - I love her show!
-and of course my kiddies =)

Kaylie is 2 months old!

I can't believe my baby girl is already 2 months (8 weeks) old! Time has just flown by! Next thing I know it, I'll be celebrating her first birthday! Kaylie is turning into a happier baby more and more each day. I am sooo thankful for that! The first few weeks were pretty rough. She is smiling so much now and "cooing" too. I had to share this picture with everyone because I think it is absolutely adorable!

She already loves her big brother Jaden so much.
Jaden will go stand in front of her when she is sitting
in the swing and touch her and talk to her and she will smile so big at him...

Isn't that big smile sooo cute!?

Last night my friend/boss Joy asked that Kaylie come to her photographer and have her pictures taken for her catalog. Joy said she HAD to have my "little chocolate baby" in her catalog. The photographer was very good and the pictures of Kaylie turned out amazing! I can't wait to get copies of them and I will definitely post them for all to see! I was worried that Kaylie would be fussy because it was later in the evening, but she wasn't! She was very content and patient as I changed her outfits and Joy changed the flowers in her hair and the photographer flashed several pictures. We also got several taken of Kaylie and I looking at each other, me kissing her on the cheek and smiling. Oh, and I got to be one of her hat models, too! I can't wait for the pictures!

Friends

I read Leslie's blog the other day and saw that she blogged about her friends and how each one is a different kind of friend. Since then it has got me thinking a lot about friends that I have been lucky to have, so I thought I would blog about it too. I hope Leslie doesn't mind that I'm doing it also. =)

I have been really blessed in my life to have such wonderful friends. I've been through a lot of different trials with some of them, but a lot of good times and great memories! Here are a few that I'd like to write about:

Holly Johnson Fry: She was my very first friend! My family moved next door to her family when I was 4 years old and we've been friends ever since. We have lost touch at times, but have always managed to pick up right where we left off and catch each other up on life. It's crazy that she has a daughter almost the age that we were when her and I met! We are both busy moms to 2 wonderful children and still have time to write weekly emails to each other. She will be a lifelong friend!

Valerie Squires Kukahiko: Although Valerie and I don't see each other anymore, she will always hold a huge place in my heart! Her and I were inseparable in middle school and had a lot of great times. I remember begging her mom to take us tanning for the first time to a real tanning salon! The sleepovers we would have and late nights we would stay up and talk about all of our favorite boys at school. The millions of times our moms would take us "driving" past our crushes houses, hoping to catch a glimpse of them! Oh and let's not forget how OBSESSED we were with *N SYNC! I think we really believed we would meet them and they would fall in love with us someday. It was such a blessing to have Valerie as a best friend in that time of my life. I was going through so much, with my parents divorce and my own self image issues, Valerie's friendship got me through some of the hardest times in my life.

Kimber Bennett Goodwin: Our friendship started off as being pen pals, she lived in Vegas and I lived here in Utah. We would write to each other all of the time, and then email and then visit each other. I thought of her family as my 2nd family for such a long time. I loved going to Vegas and staying with them! We were both huge fans of *NSYNC as well, lots of great concerts we went to together and fun memories. We like to say that *NSYNC brought us together :) I have always thought of her as my sister. We are soooo different, but have a lot of similarities. We have been friends for so long, that no matter how different we are or what is going on in our busy lives, we will always be friends, true friends.

Christina Maurer: I love this girl! We have had a lot of great memories. We became really close in 9th grade and got closer through highschool. We would stay up on school nights really late talking on the phone, writing poems and reading them to each other, driving around in her awesome car singing along to our favorite songs. We had fun in Chamber Choir together and choir tour! When I think of our friendship I think of a lot of good times. And a lot of times we were there for each other through dating drama, guy drama, family drama, friend drama, school drama, etc. I am very glad that she and I have stayed good friends. She wrote in my yearbook senior that we would be friends until we're aging grandmas, and I think that will always be true :)

Megan Thomas Isham (my sister): I am sooo lucky to have a sister like Megan. We have been friends our whole lives. We are four years apart, but still sooo close! When I was 4 years old we shared a room in our new house and I would get scared in the middle of the night and she would let me climb in bed with her. We grew up loving the same things, the same music, same tv shows, same people, same foods, etc. The only thing we have ever really disagreed on is who is the better boyband, *NSYNC or Backstreet Boys, haha! She is such a good person and has a huge heart. There is rarely a day that goes by where we don't talk on the phone. And if we dont talk on the phone we are both sensitive and wonder if we are still sisters! haha! I love my sister tons!

Nicole Johnson Swenson: my bestest friend in the whole world. I don't know what I would do without her! Her and I have become so close since I moved back here in September. We became good friends after highschool, I ran into her at a farewell and she told me she had been in hair school for 6 weeks so far. I had her come do my hair and I let her chop it! She did such a good job, and then our good friendship began. A couple of years later she put hair extensions in my hair and then a few months later I wanted them taken out and boy was that a test of our friendship! We spent several hours trying to get the stupid things out of my hair. We were very frustrated and not so nice words were said, we eventually just dumped the acetone on my head! Well we managed to get through that and we have been through a lot together since then. She has welcomed me into her life as if she were my own flesh and blood. She is the most charitable person I have ever met. I am so grateful that we are friends and that I have her to hang out with just about everyday. I love her to pieces and so do Jaden and Kaylie!!!

My mom: I already wrote a big long blog about her, so you can read that about my mom. But I didnt want to leave her out of this friends blog. :)

Wow this is a long blog! To those of you that I didnt write about, dont think I don't love you. I have such wonderful friends, it would take pages to talk about everyone. I love everyone :)

HaPpY BiRtHdAy To JaDeN!!!

My little boy is growing up so fast! I cannot believe how fast time goes. It really does seem like just a few months ago I was pregnant and miserable - oh wait, I was pregnant and miserable, but that was with Kaylie! ha! Seriously though, it seems like such a short time ago I was pregnant with Jaden and sitting in our room just staring at all his little clothes, imagining what he would look like in them. I am so blessed to have such a healthy, happy little boy. Jaden has truly made my life a million times better than it ever has been. When I found out I was pregnant with Jaden, honestly I thought my life was over and I was so terrified. I didn't know how I would be able to be a mom and know how to take care of a little person. The first time I held him in my arms I remember thinking that this little guy would be a part of me forever and it was up to me to take care of him. I felt so many different emotions, fear, excitement, worry, sadness, hope, faith, etc. It took me about 2 or 3 months to really get the hang of being a mom and taking care of someone 24/7. I remember some days I felt like just wanting to quit. But I am sure glad I didn't! It has been awesome having a little pal with me 24/7. He cheers me up when I'm sad, I cheer him up when he is sad, we look out for each other and I love that. He's my best friend! I can't imagine my life any other way right now. I love having him as my son, and I would not trade that for anything. It's awesome having him to cuddle with! We take naps together sometimes and that is the best. He's my cuddle buddy. =) I am so excited for all of his birthdays, to watch him grow each year into a wonderful person. I love you Jaden! You're my sweetie pie and always will be. =)

So tonight I had some friends over in honor of Jaden's birthday. We had cake and cookies and opened presents and visited. Christina Maurer, Ashley Reeves and Corgan, Kathy Leslie, Nicole Swenson, Kimber Goodwin and Kenzie, my sister Megan and her friend Amber all came and it was a lot of fun.
Jaden was so cute with his birthday cake. I put a big piece of the chocolate cake on his highchair tray and he just sat there looking at it for a few minutes, not knowing what to do with it. I finally had to put his hand on it and he tasted it a little bit, but still just sat there. I'm sure he was confused as to why I wasn't feeding him. After a few minutes I just took him out of the highchair and let him play while I fed him a piece of cake. It was pretty cute. He looooves cake, especially chocolate cake! Jaden had a great birthday! He was worn out from all the excitement the past couple of days, he went right to bed at 7:30 and is still completely zonked. I'm worn out from all the cooking and cleaning I have done these past few days! Now its time for me to go relax!

Tonight we had a family birthday party for Jaden at my dad's house. It was a lot of fun! Jaden had so much fun playing with toys. He rrreally had fun getting into everything at Grandpa's house. He loves going to new places and discovering new things to play with. He got a lot of fun presents. Uncle Ryan gave him a basketball hoop! I'm excited about that! Grandpa gave him some nice shirts; Golden and Crystal and the girls gave him some cars and a book; Don gave him a big farm truck; and Aunt Angie gave him a BYU t-shirt! GO COUGARS! He had fun tearing open the presents, and then he would throw them to the side when he was done looking at them. It was pretty funny. He absolutely loved it when we sang Happy Birthday to him (twice). He got the biggest smile ever and started dancing a little bit. I put the cake in front of him with the candle lit and he was just staring intensely at it, I'm sure he was ready to attack it and put it right in his mouth. He loves cake! It was a great party tonight with the family. We always have a lot of fun when we all get together. It's always loud and full of good jokes, oh and of course good food. I was pretty proud of myself today, I made 2 pans of chicken enchiladas for everyone and Jaden's birthday cake. I managed to do that this morning and take care of my 2 babies at the same time. It was a busy, but very fun day. And I'm excited for Jaden's actual birthday tomorrow! Here are some pictures from the party tonight....
